FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — Memorial services have been scheduled for a preacher’s daughter who was killed by a DUI driver while helping to evangelize her community.
According to reports from several sources, sixteen-year-old Caelyn Olds was killed by a driver who was under the influence of prescription drugs. The hit-and-run incident happened Saturday in Fayetteville, Ga.
Olds, the step-daughter of Middle Fayette church of Christ preacher Nicholas Adams, was distributing flyers inviting people to the congregation’s gospel meeting when the driver struck her and another woman, Linda Long. Olds was transported to a local hospital where she died of her injuries. Long was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, Marcia Demarcus, 41, was arrested shortly after and is being charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of prescription drugs.
The funeral service for Caelyn will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 13, at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
